Deputy Manager Business Development

Deputy Manager Business Development

Responsible for business development for Vipragen for its preclinical services to Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Medical Devices, Agrochemical, and all other client companies. Primary activity includes contacting and securing new business, and maintaining relationships with customers to meet agreed-upon goals and objectives.

Job Description / Roles and Responsibilities:

  • » Secure new business for Vipragen’s Preclinical services.
  • » To maintain regular contact with customers and prospects, knowing all aspects of their business, key personnel, and new business opportunities thereby gaining Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • » Maintain customer relationships and ensure regular contact with current and identify potential clients, and the decision-makers within the client organization. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • » Lead Generation, maintain accurate and current customers and prospects database. Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through qualified leads.
  • » Continuously make oneself informed of market, its requirements and understanding of CRO competitive environment in the same line of business, and further share such information so as to effectively grow business in the market.
  • » Work with Cross functional teams to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • » Enhance existing relationships to cross-sell and up-sell and nurture new business.
  • » Attend industry events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • » Address all complaints of the customers and make sure that they are resolved in time and within the guidelines given.
  • » Upon initiation of customer contract, act as a coordinator between tech team and the customer for smooth handling of communications and deliverables.
  • » Provide daily and further periodic reports on BD activities undertaken, market and customer insights gathered. Also maintain, to share, trackers of inquiries generated and their status.
  • » Contact potential customers via cold emailing, and setting up appointments, and meetings with the managers for lead Generation and for the purpose of selling services. Expected to be well- versed with Cold calling, e-mails & marketing campaigns, Targeted reach outs.
  • » Meeting quarterly & Annual targets set by the organization.
  • » Ensure to offer the premium level of client satisfaction over the services provided.
  • » Follow up with customers on accounts (payments) receivables.

Requirements:

Skills required:

  • » Demonstrated experience in closing business and successful track record of achieve targets
  • » Broad understanding of Preclinical services w.r.t Drug Discovery process, Pharma, Generics, Biotech, Biosimilar, New-age technologies, Agrochemical, Nutra, Medical Devices and cosmetics.
  • » Existing network and contacts in the industry to facilitate market penetration.
  • » Good understanding of quality standards, global regulatory requirements for all the above sectors.
  • » Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of clients.
  • » Self-motivated individual with excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • » Proficient with Microsoft office and CRM/SalesForce.

Required Education and Experience:

  • » Degree in Biological Science or Lifesciences.
  • » 3+ years of relevant industry experience in Preclinical CRO.
  • » The incumbent should be comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment with multiple projects and adaptable to constantly changing timelines and priorities.

  • » Note: If the candidate has faced any one surveillance or re-certification audit by NGCMA is preferred.

Analytical:

Preferred:

  • » 1. OECD GLP certified preclinical CRO Experience.
  • » 2. Conducting in vivo studies to assess toxicity levels.
  • » 3. Designing and execution of experiments.
  • » 4. Analyzing data and preparing detailed reports.
  • » 5. DABT is added an advantage.
