Deputy Manager Business Development
Vipragen Biosciences is seeking a dynamic and motivated Deputy Manager of Business Development to drive growth in our preclinical services for pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device, and agrochemical industries, both in India and globally. The incumbent will identify and develop new business opportunities and promote our comprehensive range of services, including Discovery Biology, In vitro & In vivo Pharmacology, In vitro ADME/DMPK, Analytical and Bioanalytical Services, Regulatory Toxicology, and Genetic Toxicology.
Job Description / Roles and Responsibilities:
- » Secure new business for Vipragen’s preclinical services.
- » Maintain regular contact with customers and prospects, understanding all aspects of their business, key personnel, and new opportunities to gain Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- » Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify potential clients and decision-makers. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
- » Lead generation and maintain an accurate customer and prospect database. Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through qualified leads.
- » Stay informed of market requirements and the competitive environment, sharing insights to effectively grow business.
- » Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop proposals that address clients’ needs, concerns, and objectives.
- » Enhance existing relationships to cross-sell and up-sell, nurturing new business.
- » Attend industry events and conferences, providing feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- » Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and within guidelines.
- » Coordinate between the technical team and the customer for smooth communication and deliverables upon contract initiation.
- » Provide regular reports on BD activities, market insights, and customer feedback. Maintain and share trackers of inquiries and their status.
- » Contact potential customers via cold emailing, setting up appointments and meetings, and utilizing cold calling, email campaigns, and targeted reach outs.
- » Meet quarterly and annual targets set by the organization.
- » Ensure premium client satisfaction with the services provided.
- » Follow up on accounts receivables.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- » Post-graduation in Biological Science or Life Sciences; an MBA is advantageous.
- » 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in a preclinical CRO.
- » Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific services.
- » Proven experience in closing business and achieving targets.
- » Broad understanding of preclinical services related to drug discovery, pharma, generics, biotech, biosimilar, new-age technologies, agrochemical, nutraceutical, medical devices, and cosmetics.
- » Existing network and contacts in the industry to facilitate market penetration.
- » Good understanding of quality standards and global regulatory requirements for the above sectors.
- » Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication across a wide range of clients.
- » Self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail.
- » Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/Salesforce.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular and cellular biology techniques, including qPCR, flow cytometry, cell culture, Western blotting, and Luminex assays. The role involves leading experimental design, data analysis, and contributing to the development of novel research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- » qPCR: Design and optimize qPCR assays, analyze gene expression data, and validate results.
- » Flow Cytometry: Perform cell sorting and analysis, develop new protocols, and interpret complex flow cytometry data. Experience in working with tumor samples is required.
- » Cell Culture: Maintain and culture various cell lines, including primary and immortalized cells, and manage experimental conditions.
- » Western Blotting: Execute and troubleshoot Western blot experiments, including protein transfer, antibody staining, and data analysis.
- » Luminex Assays: Conduct multiplex assays, analyze cytokine profiles, and ensure accurate and reproducible results.
- » ADME Assays: Experience with ADME assays is a plus.
